EMLYON EXPERIENCE 2014.03.13
Sylvie Guinard (MBA 2002) always dreamed of being an astronaut, and she is still passionate about space and aeronautics.
But, because fighter-pilot training was off-limits to women at that time, and the physical requirements seemed out of her reach, she chose the technical route and became a mechanical engineer with a degree from ESTACA (Transportation Engineering School). Next, at the age of 36, she pursued another dream, albeit less spectacular, but which makes her everyday life an exciting experience - taking over the reins of the family-owned business, Thimonnier. Located in Saint-Germain-au-Mont D'Or (Rhône), this company was originally founded with the invention of the sewing machine.
The company employs 60 people and, over the past five years, has seen double-digit growth in sales.
We regularly take part in trade shows all around the world – great opportunities to meet in person! We’ll be delighted to welcome you to our stands.🙂
On 21 November, twenty Thimonnier employees took part in the Course des Lumières alongside the Hospices Civils de Lyon Foundation.
Thimonnier is joining forces with the annual global campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer among its employees and support prevention initiatives.
