The specialist of the decontamination by pulsed light will equip the lines of filling of flexible pouch of the manufacturer. -

100% French partnership in the packaging of dairy products! Claranor and Thimonnier announced their collaboration during CFIA trade show held in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) from March 12 to 14. The agreement covers the supply of packaging lines for sensitive products, such as those based on milk, in Doypack pouchess and other spouted stand up pouches. Specialist in pulsed light decontamination, a technology that eliminates germs and microorganisms on the surface of packaging without chemistry or water, Claranor will equip the SF102 type Thimonnier filling / capping lines. dedicated to premade satnd up pouches with a volume between 50 ml and 2 l in an ultra-clean environment at a maximum output of 180 units per minute. The filling is performed by the spout, the latter having previously been treated by a Claranor pulsed light cabinet. Capping then occurs, after the decontamination of the caps, with a second Claranor cabinet.

Shelf life

The pulsed light treatment provides a reduction of 3 logs on A. brasiliensis, a reference seed. The key is a longer shelf life, which in the case of a dairy product can go from 10 to 60 days. Inventor of the Doypack® stand up pouch and machine manufacturer for flexible pouch, Thimonnier has sold a SF102 ESL to the American Chobani who uses it to package a yoghurt sauce (pictured). The machine, equipped with UV light tubes for decontamination, was installed in 2018 at the Twin Falls (Idaho) plant in the United States. It reaches a rate of 40 strokes per minute. Claranor and Thimonnier are currently working on a similar project, still dealing with the same type of inverted pouch, for a US customer, also present in the dairy market.
